Psychotherapy for Challenges in Dating and Romantic Relationships
We offer therapy aimed at supporting individuals who are facing challenges in dating and creating long-term romantic relationships. Our approach focuses on helping clients cope with real-life dating obstacles, while exploring and addressing psychological barriers related to intimacy and sexuality. These include passivity and inhibition, low self-esteem, negative self-concept, and trauma that may hinder their ability to establish meaningful romantic relationships.
We offer both individual and group therapy, as well as a combination of the two. In individual therapy, clients can work through feelings of hopelessness, frustration, confusion, paralysis, and doubt, discovering ways to stay proactive amidst a challenging dating landscape. This therapeutic space allows for exploration of deeper issues that may be limiting the capacity to form and maintain intimate connections.
In our interpersonal process therapy group, participants share, connect, reflect, and explore their experiences with others facing similar struggles in and around dating and relationships. A group setting fosters a sense of community, helping members feel less isolated. Here, they can recognize both similarities and differences in their collective dating experiences. Participants gain valuable insights into themselves and also support from one another.
Dating or seeking a romantic partner can be a daunting and complex journey, often lacking a clear roadmap. Our goal is to empower individuals to tolerate and navigate the discomfort of this process, and to enable them to experience the benefits of connection, companionship, and intimacy.
